On 16 Dec 1864 he enlisted in CO H HAYGOOD'S REG SC VOL, CONFEDERATES STATES ARMY.
1870 found him living with and working for Hamilton Bishop. In 1880 he was still single and living alone. He listed himself as day labor. In 1889 A.H. Cantrell sold him 9 acres of land. He must have died very shortly after this as he was not on the 1900 census.
