Hemingway --- John Henry James Jr., 56, resident of the Rose Hill section of Georgetown County died early Monday morning at his home from a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Hill Baptist Church, Rev. H. O. Davis and Rev. Thomas Cribb will officiate. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home, will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. James was born at Waycross, Ga., a son of John Henry James, Sr. and the late Mrs. Blanche Hayes James of Waycross. He established his home here 21 years ago and was employed by the International Paper Co. of Georgetown. He was a member of Rose Hill Baptist church and the Indiantown Masonic Lodge No. 165 of Hemingway.

Surviving besides his father, are his wife, Mrs. Mary Ellen Baxley James; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth McLaulin, Mexico City, Mrs. Sandra McHaffey, Clemson, Mrs. Lilliam Chambless, Columbia, Miss Silvia James and Miss Valerie James of Georgetown; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Bell, Binghampton, N. Y., and Mrs. Dorothy Fechetell of Waycross, Miss Elaine James of Kinston, N. C.; three brothers, Richard James, Birmingham, Ala., Jimmy James, Jackson, Miss. Robert James, Cuernavaca, Mexico and four grandchildren.
