Mr. Vedder was a member of the Fayetteville Village Board during the 1930s and had served on the Fayetteville Cemetery and Library governing boards. He was a past president of Onondaga Golf and Country Club.
Mr. Vedder had been corporate secretary and treasurer of Brace-Mueller-Huntley Inc. of Syracuse, a steel manufacturering firm.
HE WAS A FORMER member of the University Club of Winter Park, a member of the Presbyterian Church there and the Stage and Country clubs of Orlando, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; a son, Alan E. Vedder, Palmer Rd., Manlius, who is varsity football and lacrosse coach and chairman of the Social Studies Department at Fayetteville-Manlius High School; a sister, Marion H. Vedder of Schenectady, and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services were held April 5 in Florida. Burial will be in Fayetteville Cemetery at a time to be announced.
