Brunswick, Md. - OLA AUGUSTINE LANCASTER, 87, of 507 9th Ave., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Vindobona Nursing Home in Braddock Heights, Md. Born Aug. 18, 1916, in Cadiz, Ky., he was the son of the late Wadford and Seronia Vanzant Lancaster.

He was a retired engineer from the B&O and Chessie System in Brunswick. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Brunswick, where he was a former head deacon, Sunday School superintendent and a Sunday School teacher. He did missionary work in Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers and the B&O Veterans Association.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gertie Wilkerson Lancaster; one daughter, Helen L. Cockrell of Orlando, Fl; two sons, Dan K. Lancaster of Knoxville, Md., and Russell H. Lancaster of Bryantown, Md.; one sister, Eufaula McWaters of Cadiz; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Myra Noel, Velma Braboy, Laddus Peck and Laddie Michaels; and two brothers, Othel Lancaster and Frank Lancaster.

Services were held at First Baptist Church, Brunswick; burial was in Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick; arrangements were by the John T. Williams Funeral Home, Brunswick.
