Services for Arthur B. Allen, 79, of Tyler. will be held on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. John L. Coleman and Rev. Rick Tate officiating.

Mr. Allen passed away on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

He was born on Aug. 12, 1929, in Antioch, Cass County, Texas, to the late Almer and Maud Stone Allen. He graduated from Atlanta High School in 1946, Texarkana Junior College in 1948, and North Texas State University in 1954. Mr. Allen served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After graduating from college, he was employed as a field representative for the Social Security Administration in Longview for 32 years. Mr. Allen was a member of Fairwood United Methodist Church in Tyler where he was a member of the Board of Trustees and the New Beginnings Sunday School Class.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by a stepson, Randall Cashell. He is survived by a loving family including his wife of 26 years, Ann Fears Allen; a daughter, Debra Allen; three sons, Mark Allen, Jeff Allen and Richard Cashell; grandchildren, Krissy Levasseur, Kimberly Hammett, Mark Phillip Hammett, Darrell Whitworth, Brandon Allen, Marcayla Allen, Amanda Allen, Caitlin Cashell and Conner Cashell; great-grandson, Dillon O'Brien; brother, Aubrey C. Allen; two nieces and two nephews.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to Noon on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, one hour prior to the service, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, 75703.
