Elizabeth Young was born in Marion County, Ill., Oct. 10, 1853 and died at her home in Cherokee, Kansas Sept. 19, 1918.

She was married to O.L. Bumcrot April 22, 1874. To this union five children were born, three of whom died in infancy; two sons still survive her, James Bumcrot who resides in Kansas City, Mo. and Fred Bumcrot who lives in Pittsburg, Kansas.

She came with her husband to Kansas in 1876; since 1880 she has lived in Cherokee.

She was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in early childhood and has lived a consistent Christian life. She was always very much interested in the activities of the Church. She was a great Bible student and had read the Bible through many times.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, and one sister. She will be greatly missed from her place in the church and Sunday school as well as in the community.

She was a kind and loving wife and mother and many will mourn her loss.

The funeral was held from the Methodist church by Rev. A.E. Ryan, pastor.

The Eastern Star and W.C.T.U. both held impressive services following the sermon. The remains were laid to rest in the Cherokee cemetery
