Doris Jean Gulager the daughter of A.O. and Tressie (Haggard) Kirkwood was born March 22, 1931 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 9, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 18 days.
Doris enjoyed life to the fullest. She made many lifelong friends in Tahlequah and enjoyed spending time with them. She was also very active with the friends she had made in Coweta where she was living. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings and getting around the table for a meal. Doris touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fred Gulager; brother J. Scott Kirkwood and sister Rosemary Ackley.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her daughter Freda Purtle and husband Joe of Hulbert; brother Joe Kirkwood of North Carolina; 2 grandchildren Tara Michelle Chronister and Kirk Barnett; 2 great grandchildren Maci and Adam Chronister; 2 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
