Walaka Y. Blumberg, 80, of 17741 Red Oak Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village.
Born Feb. 10, 1925, in Security, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Giovanna Grasonni Pennesi.
She was employed by Fairchild Aircraft.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was a member of the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary from 1969 to 1982. She was an amateur artist.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years,
Elvin H. Blumberg;
one granddaughter;
two great-granddaughters;
nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
one daughter, Alvena E. Blumberg;
one son, Ira L. Rock;
three sisters,
Edith C. Wireman,
Anna M. Jenkins and
Alice E. Shrader; and
one brother, Primo Pennesi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
