Jacob Cleckler, Jr. is the son of Jacob Cleckler, Sr. (abt 1754-1823) and Mary (MNU). He married Edna Head (1812-1880), daughter of Tavenah Head, on October 28, 1829 in Fayette County, Georgia. His specific place of burial is unknown, but he could have been buried on his farm in Walker County, GA on the south side of highway 136 west of Villanow and near West Armuchee Creek. Most likely he could have been buried at Shiloh Baptist Church where he and Edna were members. Someone has put up a sign calling this the McWilliams Cemetery, but this is the old original Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Jacob and Edna are the parents of 8 known children:
1. Willis Newton Cleckler (1833-1863)
2. Mary Frances Cleckler
3. Emeline Lavina Cleckler
4. Elizabeth A. Cleckler
5. Joseph H. Cleckler
6. Julia Amanda Cleckler
7. Emily Elizabeth Cleckler
8. Jacob Lindsay Washington Cleckler (1850-1900)
