Victor F. Amell Jr. age 70 of Brown St. Dexter passed away January 10th, 2013 after a long illness at Samaritan Medical Center.

Victor was born June 15, 1941 in Watertown, the son of Victor and Ruth Bishop Amell Sr. He attended Watertown High School.

Victor worked as an inspector at the N.Y.Air Brake in the welding shop, worked at J.R.C. in Watertown, became a truckdriver working for various firms in the area and later was a driver for Freeman Bus.

Victor was a Past Chief and lifetime member of the Brownville Fire Dept., longtime member of Dexter Fire Dept. and Ambulance Squad, a member of International Association of Moulders and Allied Workers Union and a former member of Masons.

He married Cathy J. Corey on November 13, 1982 at the Brownville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Cathy and the following children and their spouses: Mrs. John Eva Hinckleman of Nile, Michigan, Donald and Linda Amell of Watertown, Mrs. Ryan Amy Loesch of Hendersonville, N.C., Mrs. Dan Patience Johnson of Fulton, Mrs. Joshua Dawn Coyne of Winston Salem, N.C., Richard and Kimberly Little of Chaumont, and Patrick and Kristen Amell of Dexter. He is also survived by a brother William Amell of Dexter, and sisters: Sharon Reid of Dexter and Kathy Meilleur of Watertown, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A son Richard predeceased him.

Funeral services will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Leon VanWie officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Donations may be made to Brownville and Dexter Fire Depts. Or the American Heart Association.
