Deceased Name: LYNN ATKINS -- SPOKANE VALLEY

No service will be held for Lynn Allen Atkins, 65. Spokane Cremation and Burial Service handled the arrangements.

Mr. Atkins, who was born in Baird, Neb., died Jan. 12. He was a resident of the Spokane area for 34 years.

In 1957 he graduated from Vale (Ore.) High School and joined the Army that year, serving as a corporal until 1961.

Mr. Atkins worked for the U.S. government for 37 years, for the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation and the Bureau of Mines, retiring in 1995. He also received the Meritorious Award for his career service.

He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Rifle Association, and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping and hiking.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Atkins of Medical Lake and Cathy Pruitt of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Craig Atkins of Spokane Valley; his mother, Linden Atkins of Fargo, N.D.; three sisters, Bobbie Maggard of Parma, Idaho, Marylou McLaughlin of Alturus, Calif., and Toni Lamb of Fargo; a brother, John Atkins of Portland; his former wife, Carol Atkins of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
