The funeral for Susan (Fritch) Trapp, 95, formerly of Marion, North Dakota, was Monday, July 14, 1997, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Marion with Rev. John Donald and Rev. Norman Winkelman officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marion.
She died at the McKenzie County Memorial Hospital in Watford City on July 10, 1997.
Susan (Fitch) Trapp was born November 14, 1901, at Wellington, Illinois, the first of four daughters of Charles and Ann (Reed) Fritch.
When she was a freshman in high school, the family moved to a farm near Marion. After graduation from high school she attended college in Valley City. She then taught in rural schools for a few years.
On May 21, 1922, she married Clarence Trapp in Fargo. They were both employed by the State Bank of Marion for a time before moving to a farm west of Marion and in 1932, to a farm south of town.
In 1944, they moved back to Marion and were again employed at the bank. They continued working there until they retired. In 1972 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Most recently Mrs. Trapp was a resident of the Good Shepherd Home in Watford City.
Survivors are two daughters, Shirley (Bill) Dixon of Watford City, and Betty Henrikson of Marion; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Gladys Timm of Eagle Creek, OR, and May Lily Well of Hoopeston, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence in 1972, a sister, Kathryn Deyoe and great-granddaughter, Holly Rohrbeck.
Funeral arrangements are by Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City and Peterson-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home, Valley City.
