Mr. Rardin served in the US Army During WW II in the Pacific Theater where he earned at silver, bronze stars and a purple heart. After his time in the Army he earned his BA in animal husbandry from the University of Kentucky. He was the owner of Rardin & Son Feed and Grain in Washington Court House and later Rardin Sales Inc. of Spencerville. He was the past president of the Spencerville Lions Club, and a member of the Spencerville Masonic Lodge and had received his 50 year pin. He was a member of Shawnee Church of Christ where he had been an elder.
He was also on the board of directors for HIS Home for children and was instrumental in helping start the special needs home in Porto Prince Haiti and had been a private pilot. He participated in the Honor Flight in Washington D.C.
Survivors include his wife Miriam of Lima, son Don Rardin of Nashville, TN; a daughter Billie Jean Rardin of Columbus, Ohio, grandsons Brian Clark Rardin and Don Alan Rardin and 4 great grandchildren; 2 stepsons: Hal (Chris) Nungester of Porto Prince Haiti, Paul (Mindy) Nungester of Lafayette, a foster son Larry (Linda) Joyner of Lima and a stepdaughter: Michele (Joe) Wassink of Lima; many special step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Carl and Burris Rardin.
