Florence Elizabeth Abeel, born August 29, 1911, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2009 at the age of 97 years in El Paso, Texas. Originally from Kansas City, she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ralph Virgil Abeel, and their son Dennis. She is survived by her son Jerry and daughter-in-law Ann Abeel of El Paso, Texas. Florence, a longtime resident of Roeland Park and Prairie Village, Kansas, was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church of the parish's Altar Society for many years. She was also an active participant in the area' garden club and her home beautifully reflected her love of plants and flowers. She and her husband Ralph enjoyed many close friendships in their Countryside East neighborhood. She will be fondly remembered as a thoughtful, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Florence will be missed by her friends and family in Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Florida. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas.
