SPRINGFIELD - Russell C. Abair, 65, of Sumner Ave., passed away quietly at home on January 3, 2013. He was born January 26, 1947 in Ludlow, MA and has lived in Springfield for the past 12 years. Russell proudly served his country in the US Navy. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after working for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Pamela (Benedetti) Abair of Springfield and his father Eugene and wife Lorraine Abair of Ludlow. He also leaves two children, Victoria Davis and her husband Ryan, and Christopher Abair of Springfield, three children through marriage, Jennifer Hebert-Marshall of Ludlow, Jonathan Hebert of Wilbraham, Marques Hebert of Springfield, five grandchildren Michelina Colson and fiance William, Stephani Bauduccio, Tristian Hebert, Sienna Hebert, Paige Hebert and a great grandson Jaxton LaBrecque. He will also be missed by a sister Kathy Abdow and husband John of Ludlow and four nephews Danny and Ryan Shannon, Michael and Greg Abdow. Russell was preceded in death by his mother Elaine (Caron) Abair and his sister Michele Shannon. All Services are private and Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
