Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Brian Heese, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Fairmont, Okla., with Timothy Dorsch, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating.
Mrs. Pedigo was born May 11, 1926, in Fairmont to Lilly Durhiem and Louis Gerken. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Fairmont. She also attended the Lutheran school in Fairmont.
She married George E. "Buck" Pedigo in Fairmont on Nov. 24, 1946. Their first home was in Oklahoma City and in 1950, they moved to Amarillo.
Helen worked for CIT Financial Service until her retirement after 35 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Amarillo and was active in church activities until her illness. Helen liked gardening, sewing and visiting friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 24, 1995; two sisters, Gertrude Trey and Evelyn Jenkins; and a brother, Harold Gerken.
Survivors include two nieces, Carolyn Black of Oklahoma and Joyce Maher of Indiana; three nephews, John Gerken of Virginia, Tom Gerken of Oklahoma and Bill Jenkins of Kansas; her special friends, Joe and Joan Kennedy of Amarillo; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many more relatives and friends.
The family suggests memorials be to Trinity Lutheran Church of Amarillo, 5005 W. Interstate 40, Amarillo, TX 79106.
