Warren Bryson "Pete" Rayburn, 77, of Ashland, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his residence. Mr Rayburn was born June 21, 1935, in Ashland, a son of the late Warren Gene and Verna Conley Rayburn. in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Edith Rayburn Maddox and a brother who died during World War II Fritz Rayburn.
Pete retired with the rank of Sergeant from the Ashland Police Department with 22 years of service. He was active with the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #350, Ashland Eagles, AmVets and American Legion Post #76. He served his country proudly with the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include his son, Warren B. Rayburn, Jr. and his wife Amy, his daughter, Jeri Rayburn Wright and her husband William, his sister, Nada Rayburn, brother-in-law, Gene Maddox, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date with burial in the Rose Hill Burial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue.
