12 Feb 1909, The Kennewick Courier (Kennewick, Washington)

Miss Bessie Dry, of Hover, and J. W. Lawler, of Portland, were married Monday, February 8th, at the Walla Walla M. E. parsonage, Rev. Saunders officiating.

The marriage was solemnized at 2:30 p.m. in the presence of the contracting parties and Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Richards, of Freewater, Ore., the latter a sister of the bride. Both are well known here. The bride is the youngest daughter of Rev. and Mrs. T. H. Dry and was at home here during the two years her father was pastor of the Presbyterian church. For the last two years she has been in charge of the post office at Hover. She is a young woman of ability, force and character.

The groom, "Jimmy" Lawler, is an employee of Wren & Greenough, the railroad contractors, and the acquaintances of the bride and groom dates from the time this firm was building this end of the North Bank road, and had their headquarters here. He is now a timekeeper for the same firm, which has a contract on the Portland & Astoria railroad, with headquarters in the first named city.

Immediately following the ceremony the couple started on a short wedding trip. Saturday they will return to Hover and the first of the week they go to their new home at Portland. Hosts of friends, here and elsewhere, will extend their very best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Lawler.
