Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Monday, July 24, 1972:
  Funeral services for Mrs. Anna L. Abert, 97, of Alhambra, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Salem United Church of Christ, Alhambra.
  Friends may call at Dauderman Funeral Home, Alhambra, after 4 p.m. today.
  Mrs. Abert, a resident of Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra since April, 1966, died Saturday afternoon in St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland, where she had been a patient about three weeks.
  Born April 8, 1875, in St. Louis County, Mo.  Mrs. Abert was a daughter of the late William and Wilhelmina Drier Koch. She was married to Jacob A. Abert on Feb. 18, 1896, in Marine; he died in 1924.
  Surviving are sons Fred Abert of Newark, Calif., and Alfred Abert, Hamel, and daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Hilda) Birdsell, and Bertha Abert, both of Alhambra, Mrs. Augusta Keown, St. Louis, and Mrs. Henry C. (Esther) Uhe, Route 2, Edwardsville.
  Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great-granddaughters, brothers Herman Koch, St. Louis, Jacob Koch, Edwardsville, and Henry Koch of Hamel, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Tiek of Pontiac, Mich.
  Three daughters, three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
  Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Alhambra.
