Elsie Barbee Matuscak, 94, of Front Royal, Virginia, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Warren Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow the service at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Matuscak was born January 30, 1918 in Bentonville, VA, daughter of the late Walter and Amanda Ritenour Barbee. She retired a manicurist and was married to the late Andrew Matuscak.
Surviving are one sister, Sarah Snipes of Limeton, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert William Barbee, Howard Jackson Barbee and John Hoover Barbee, Sr; and three sisters, Valley Barr, Alma Barbee Deane and Mary Barbee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Front Royal Fire and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 567, Front Royal, VA 22630.
