Mrs Emma Hewitt Cook, 73 passed out of this world on Monday afternoon, March 10, at her home in Main street. Although in ill health for the past year, yet she was able to be about her home until taken suddenly ill about a week ago. Mrs. Cook was born in Fulton November 15, 1856, the daughter of the late Rev. John T. Hewitt and Mehetabel Gaston Hewitt. Her early life was spent in that city. There she attended Falley Seminary, later living in different parts of the state. Thirty-seven years ago she married Henry W. Cook of this village and has resided here since. Mr. Cook passed away last September. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church and its societies and a member of the Board of Education. She! is survived by two sons, Allen T. Cook, of Tarrytown, and Lovell H Cook, of New York; two brothers Charles and Henry Hewitt. Interment at Mexico Village Cemetery
