Found in The State 27 November 1981: George David Wingard, 78, of 2720 Riverland Drive, Cayce, died Wednesday at Rikard Nursing Home. Born in Orangeburg County, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Wingard. He was a retired employee of Pacific Columbia Mills and a former employee of Capital City Casket Co. of Cayce. He was a member of Cayce First Baptist Church. Surviving are two brothers, Pete Wingard of Columbia and Raymond Wingard of West Columbia; a half brother, David Wingard of Columbia; and a grandson, Doyle Wingard with whom he made his home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Olympia Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Dallas Goff. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is in charge.
