George H. Urban, 83, formerly of Brillion, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at the Sheboygan County Comprehensive Health Center where he resided for the past three years.
He was born Sept. 28, 1915 in Elkhart Lake, son of the late Herman “William” and Elsa (Daehn) Urban.
He married Leona Schroder on May 7, 1938 in the town of Charlestown.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Okinawa, and worked in construction as a mason until retiring in 1977.
Mr. Urban was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brillion and the Collins Senior Citizens.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law,
Ronald and Judy of Reedsville,
Gerald and Sharon of Brillion;
nine grandchildren, Laurie (Rob) Buffington, Tracy (Jeff) Murray, Jennifer Urban, Candy (Jody) Chaussee, Carleen (Patrick) Harel, Daniel (Kathy) Urban, William Urban, Andrew (Jane) Urban, Tami (Glen) Schwalbe;
10 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren;
two sisters, Florence Jentsch, Manitowoc, Elsie (Marvin) Gessert, Plymouth;
two brothers and sisters-in-law, William (Helen) Urban, Manitowoc, Harold (LouAnn) Urban, Milwaukee; three sisters-in-law, Aurelia “Rusty” Urban, New Holstein, Lydia Urban, Chilton, Hertha Schroeder, Kiel, and a brother-in-law, Norbert Mohs, Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his wife May 30, 1998, a sister, Helen Mohs and two brothers, Lester and John.
Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion with the Rev. Ross Henzi as officiant. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
