John Ray McAnally, 59, loving son and brother, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. John was born July 5, 1953, in Fort Worth. He was the eldest son of Mary Louise McAnally. John graduated from Richland High School in 1971 and resided in Fort Worth for most of his life. He was an All Star baseball player, two-time varsity basketball player and an excellent golfer. His favorite pastimes were watching the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars. John's professional career began with the railroad and he then moved to Red River, N.M., where he opened his own restaurant. He returned to Fort Worth and started his landscaping business in the Colleyville and Southlake areas, which he had operated very successfully for the past 20 years. He will be remembered as a loving son, a wonderful brother and a treasured friend. He took little, he gave much and he will be deeply missed. He was a prince of a guy. Survivors: Mother, Mary McAnally; brothers, Jim and Joe McAnally; sister-in-law, Elaine McAnally; uncle, Ray Thomas Jr.; cousin, Danielle Thomas; and very good friends, Christine and Jack Beuttell.
