"William Anderson, being born, it is thought, in Scotland and being a pioneer of Worth township. There he engaged in the manufacture of fanning mills, which at that time had an extensive sale, and many of his mills, fifty or more years old, are still in use. In addition to manufacturing he also engaged in farming, residing at Millbrook until his death at a good old age. His wife was Nancy Howe and she survived him, continuing her residence at Millbook until her death"

*Excerpt from "A Twentieth Century Hisorty of Mercer County, PA, Volume 2 by the Lewis Publishing Company, published in 1909, page 965

- William Anderson was born in Ohio and is consistently given a birth location of Ohio in all of the Federal Censuses. Both of his parents are given a birth location of Ireland in the Federal Censuses, with one odd mention of Scotland for his mother Mary in 1870. William's parent's lineage likely was originally from Scotland as they are Scotch-Irish who emigrated from Ireland (most likely Northern Ireland).
