GLENVILLE -- Thurman Clay Kemper, 80, a retired farmer of Newberne, died Monday in a Weston Hospital.

Survivors: wife, Georgia Woodford Kemper; sons, Morley of New Concord, Ohio, George Meade of Weston; daughters, Mrs. Mary McHenry of Glenville, Mrs. Milfred Bailey of Newberne; brother, W. N. Kemper of Weston.

Mr. Kemper held membership in the Horn Creek Baptist Church and was a charter member of the Newberne IOOF Lodge No. 112.
Frirends are being received at the Spurgeon Mortuary here. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Newberne Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mrs. Rita Emerson offficiating. Burial will be in Horn Creek Baptist Church Cemetery and members of the I00F Lodge will conduct graveside rites.
