Donald J. Belcher, 82, of Rocheport, Missouri passed away peacefully on January 11, 2013 at home with family. He was born on August 21, 1930 in Columbia to his parents, John Belcher and Wilmoth Hunt Belcher. Donald was the youngest of 3. He married Anita Barbara Schlitt in Krakow, MO on October 31, 1959. They had 4 children. He attended Hickman High and graduated in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army and served in Korean War, earning Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, ROK Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. He was a longtime resident of Rocheport and employed by U.S. Veteran's Administration as a Maintenance Inspector of Engineering for 20 years. Donald was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish and The Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family. Donald will be remembered by his loving wife and their children: Rick Belcher (Marry), Pam McMahan (Mike), Tammy Wulff (Mike), Kevin Belcher (Terri). He is also survived by five grandsons: Justin Belcher, Adam Wulff, Drew Wulff, Ryan McMahan & Ian Wulff and one granddaughter: Rebecca McMahan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister. Relatives and friends are invited to a rosary from 6:00 pm to 6:20 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes, 903 Bernadette, Columbia, MO, followed by a visitation from 6:20 pm to 8:00 pm. There will be a Funeral Mass for Donald at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with a one hour visitation prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, in the Garden of Resurrection. Memorial masses or contributions to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish or to the American Cancer Society are suggested in lieu of flowers. The family would like to express their humble appreciation for the outpouring of love and support from family and friends as Don prepared for his transcendence into the loving arms of God.
