Thomas Grundon Flagg, proprietor of the New Way Cycle Shop on Richmond Avenue, died Thursday morning (Jun 11, 1959) at his home 949 Anderson Street.
A native of Charlottesville, he was born March 11, 1903, a son of Mrs. Fannie Grundon Flagg and the late Thomas G. Flagg. He came to Staunton to make his home about 22 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Alma Brown Flagg; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Viola Bell, Lonoke, Arkansas; his mother, Mrs. Fannie G. Flagg, Newport News; five brothers, Paul M Flagg, Charlottesville, Robert M. Flagg, Roanoke, Samuel B. Flagg, Harrisonburg, James M. Flagg Charlottesville and George P. Flagg, Carlisle, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Criddle, Newport News and Mrs. Marguerite Londen, Vallejo, Calif.
A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (June 14, 1959) at two o'clock in the Memorial Chapel of the Fred Henry Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Richard R Potter, D.D. pastor of the First Presbyterian Church.
The committal service will be at 3:30 in the family plot in Monticello Memorial Park, Charlottesville conducted by the Rev. Alfred G. Taylor.
Pallbearers will be George Spencer, Harry Safley, Henry Tomlin, Oscar Sheffield, Johnny Thomas and Roy Shifflett.
