Dorothy Louise (Denaeyer) Koss, 88, of Valentine, passed away on Jan. 16, 2013, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. Dorothy was born on June 24, 1924, in Valentine to Barney and Adeline Denaeyer. She attended grade school in Valentine and later graduated as valedictorian of her class at Valentine High School. She attended college at Chadron State. Dorothy was a bookkeeper and accountant for Miller Brothers in Valentine for many years. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Valentine. She loved bowling and fishing. She is survived by her two sons, Bob, of O'Fallon, Ill., and Jerry, of North Platte; grandchildren, Shelly Wieland, Serra Nicolette and Jessica Koss; brothers and sisters, Marie, Larry, Janet and Lenna; and five great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Billy; and one brother, Doug Denaeyer. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Episcopal Church. Services were on Jan. 21 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Valentine, with the Rev. Mark Swanson officiating. Burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine.
