Mills E Pruden dies in the county.

One of the oldest citizens of Nansemond, 92, expires yesterday. Mills Edward Pruden, of the county, and a member of an old and prominent family, died Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his home near Suffolk, after a long illness.
Son of Mills and Sarah "Sallie" Pruden. Mills married twice; first, Medra Ann J Monelle on 21 Dec 1870 in Nansemond and second; to Nancy Dee "Sweetie" Babb on 25 Sep 1907 in Nansemond.

Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Sweetie Pruden, five daughters; Mrs. Odie Archer, Mrs. R E Roberts, Mrs. George Williams, all of Nansemond County, Mrs. Emma Nelms, of Suffolk, and Mrs. Fenton Bryant of Southampton, and four sons; M T Pruden and M E Pruden, Jr., both of Nansemond County, and Stanley Pruden of Suffolk, J E Pruden, of Southampton County: 27 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, and one half-sister, Mrs Mollie Redd, of Nansemond County.

The body was taken to the I O Hill and Company Funeral Home to remain until 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, at which time it will be taken to the Bethlehem Christian Church for funeral services at 3 o'clock conducted by Reverend R E Brittle and Dr I W Johnson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
