at White Oak Terrace Nursing Facility.
She is one of eight brothers and sisters born to her parents; Samuel R. Gover of Kentucky and Mollie (Shepherd) Gover of Kansas. Her parents established Kerr, MO, by building a rural store which served as a meeting place for the community.
She attended the one-room rural, elementary school of Far West, near Kerr, Mirable High School, and later attended Missouri Wesleyan and Central Business Colleges in Kansas City.
She married Harl P. Perry in 1929 and they established their residence in Linden, MO, which eventually became part of Gladstone. After one move, she lived in Gladstone until her death.
She was lovingly known as Aunt Lonnie by her nephews, nieces and cousins. Her close friends called her Ruthie.
She was active in the RLDS Church almost all of her life and, at the age of eight, was baptized in Shoal Creek, near Kerr. She served as Sunday School teacher for years at the Nashua RLDS Church, where her husband, Harl, served as Bishops Agent until his passing on November 16, 1961.
She was active with Cancer Action Inc. for many years, where she knitted hundreds of booties and lap robes.
She was also active in the Gladstone chapter of the AARP in her final years.
She was known for doing many loving acts of kindness for her neighbors, such as driving those who needed transportation, until she suffered her first stroke at age 93.
Her formula for everyday happiness was to "count your blessings one by one." She believed that wherever she went, God had gone before her. Daily saying a blessing at each meal and the Lord's Prayer at night was a lifelong ritual.
In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by four brothers, John Paul, Robert and Roy, and two sisters, Juanita and Pauline.
She is survived by her remaining brother, Glen Woodrow Gover of Gladstone, MO.
Those who knew her well loved her and will very much miss her loving and inspiring presence in their lives.
