Ara Lorriane Burkhalter Rule was born on April 19, 1921 in Hemphill, TX to John Ervin Burkhalter and Amanda Gertrude McBroom Burkhalter. She died June 4, 2014 in Fredericksburg, TX.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 45 years Robert Nathan Rule and by her son Robert (Bobby) Nathan Rule, Jr. Also, her grandson John Patrick Anderson and his son Robert Chase Anderson.
She is survived by her daughter Jean and her husband BT Anderson of Kerrville, TX, her son Gary Rule of Johnson City, TX, and her daughter in law Margaret Rule wife of her deceased son Robert, of Dallas, TX, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Ara spent many years as a banker at the Citizen State Bank in Dickinson, TX. She started in bookkeeping and worked her way up to vice president. She raised her family in League City, TX and will be remembered as a loving mother and wife.
While she lived in Nacogdoches she was an active member of the New Hope Congregational Methodist Church singing in the choir and participating in her Sunday School class. She volunteered at Memorial Hospital and took part in Meals on Wheels.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the New Hope Congregational Church 5301 E. Main, Nacogdoches, TX.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Hill Country Memorial Hospice, PO Box 835, Fredericksburg, or a charity of your choice.
