My brother, Nelson B. Alsup, son of G. M. and Sarah Alsup, was born on January 22, 1846; was married, to Ann Rucker, on November 17, 1870; was baptized, by Brother Smith Bolin, in 1871; and died on August 20, 1901. He was a faithful, devoted follower of the Lord; he was always anxious to aid the cause, always ready to say a word for it or defend it when attacked. He was a constant student of the word and was well informed in the doctrine. He died at Jackson, Tenn., away from home and loved ones, but with the blessed hope of meeting those gone before.
