Funeral service was Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Stutsmanville Chapel. Pastor Edward Warner officiated. Interment took place in Lakeview Cemetery.
Alvin was born May 22, 1941, in Petoskey, the son of Byron and Nina (Cease) Lightfoot. He attended Harbor Springs schools and graduated in 1959.
He married the former Susan Garver on July 2l, 1961.
From 1961 until 1964, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Arizona. He returned to Harbor Springs and worked as a building contractor for many years.
Alvin is survived by his wife; four daughters, Amy Heminger and her husband, Wayne, of Harbor Springs, Betsy Oberg and her husband,
Tony, of Petoskey, Karen Delnick and her husband, Matt of Houston, Texas, and Nancy Lightfoot and her husband, Daniel "Choppy" Gasco III of Harbor Springs. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ally, Matthew, Jacob, Hayden, Emily, Ben Tricia Olivia and Jack his sisters, Rhoda Ritter and her husband, Roger, of Traverse City, Imelda Hofbauer and her husband, Gerald, of Alanson, Marilyn "Midge" Truman and her husband, Robert, of Harbor Springs. Also surviving are Alvin's mother-and father-in-law, Kenneth and Elizabeth Garver, of Harbor Springs, and brother-and sister-in-law, Ken and Elaine Garver, of Harbor Springs; and many nieces and nephews.
