Martha and Jesse (b. 1821) Do not appear in 1860 census. Martha believed to have passed before 1857 as a marriage record is found for Jesse and Francis that year. Jesse is believed to have died in or prior to 1860.
Jesse's second wife Frances is living with ( Rhoda daughter, age 1 ), her mother Rhoda Hartley 63 yrs old ,and Hiram Hartley (probably her brother) in Wilkinson Co, GA. in 1860 Census
Martha and Jesse's children ( John/Laura/Archibald/Lou Ellen/Wm. Richard ) were being cared for by their step-mother's sister, Susan Bell and husband Joseph M. Bell, in Randolph Co, AL, and appear in that household on the 1860 census.
