Accident Fatal To Mojave Boy

A traffic accident between a car and motorcycle on Hwy. 58 at Oak Creek Rd. last Wednesday evening proved fatal to Gilbert Ramirez, 18, 16134 H St., Mojave.
The dead youth was riding on a motorcycle being driven by Jose Herrera, 18, 2156 Hwy. 58, Mojave. The bike struck the rear of the Stanley C. Kuzminsky vehicle that was stopped to make a left turn onto Oak Creek from the highway. Kuzminsky lives at 3471 Carla, Mojave.
Herrera, ,who sustained leg injuries in the accident, told CHP officers that he was following Kuzminsky at about 35 mph, and had taken his eyes off the traffic to wave at Raphael Quiroga, who was working at the Standard service station., When he looked back, Kuzminsky had stopped and he didn't have time to apply the brakes.
Ramirez was thrown over the top of the car, and was unconscious from head injuries when taken to Antelope Valley Hospital by Morris Ambulance. He died at 8:50 p.m. from the injuries.
According to the CHP report, Herrera was not licensed to drive a two-wheel motorcycle, and may possibly face a complaint of manslaughter.
