COUSHATTA, LA - Services for Ledavon Lindsey Bamburg, 88, will be held Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 2 pm under the direction of Kilpatrick Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta with Pastor Harry Bamburg officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.

Ledavon was born on July 7, 1924 in Coushatta to Aaron B. and Gracie Lee Adkins Lindsey. She passed away peacefully Thursday evening, January 3, 2013 with her children by her side.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wadell, Charles, Cedric, Sonny, and J.D.; sisters, Mary Lou Prothro, Billie Dove Ulrich, and Bobbie MacDonald.

Ledavon worked at and retired from the Louisiana State Unemployment Office in Shreveport. She attended night classes at LSUS and graduated with a degree in General Studies at age 60. After her retirement, she worked part time for Shreve Memorial Library. She loved books and reading was her favorite pastime. She attended Brookwood Baptist Church until she moved to Texas. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was loved and will be deeply missed by all of her family.

She is survived by her son, Danis Lamar and wife Brenda of Tyler, Texas; daughter, Charlotte Jeane and husband Joe of Wills Point, Texas; brothers, Wilder Lindsey and wife Dorothy of Natchitoches, William Lindsey of Shreveport; sisters Carla Kuhn of Shreveport, and Betty Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada, seven grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
