Charles Allen 78, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

On December 21, 1958 Charles was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Harris. Chuck began working at Prairie Farms (Flynn) Dairy in Des Moines and was in the dairy business for 45 years, retiring on June 1, 2000. Chuck was a 50 year member of the Gnemeth Masonic Lodge #577 in West Des Moines and also worked at the Iowa Events Center and the Drake Relays.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly; children, Deborah (Douglas) Coates, Michael (Shawnie) Allen; grandson, Andrew Bryant; brother, Irvin (Celeste) Allen; sister, Ellen Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be directed to his church. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, at the church, with a Masonic Service at 10:45 a.m.
