Viola A. Schlegel Felzien, age 91, passed away at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City on January 19, 2013. She was born on October 3, 1921 on the family farm near Ness City the daughter of Henry and Lottie Kerbs Schlegel.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Ness City. She worked at The Toggery for 20 years until she purchased the clothing store in 1975. She will be well remembered for her baking and crocheting skills.

On December 27, 1972 she married Edgar Felzien. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2000. Viola is survived by her brother Pete Schlegel and his wife Grace, Ness City, stepson, Keith Felzien; stepdaughters, Charlene Alsop and Virginia Stanton; 2 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews.

She was proceded in death by six brothers, Soloman, Ben, Henry, Leo, Roy, and Walter Schlegel; three sisters, Roas Litzenberger, Clara Schlegel, and Lillian Schlegel and six nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 22, 2013, 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church, Ness City. Burial in the Great Bend Cemetery.

Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. and at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until service time.

Memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Church and Cedar Village Long Term Care.
