Born on March 17, 1869 at Potts Creek, Alleghany County, Virginia, a son of Moses Gordon Wright and Phebe Terry Wright.

He married 1) Mary Ann Persinger on October 26, 1891 at Alleghany County, Virginia. In 1920 Perry (aged 50) was living in Botetourt County, Virginia with his wife, Mary (aged 51)and children John W Wright (son aged 24), Claude A Wright (son aged 18), Edwin W Wright (son aged 16), and daughter Audrey B Wright (aged 8). His wife died on August 23, 1922.

He married 2) Naomi Simmons on March 14, 1923. At age 60 (1930) Perry was found living in Boiling Spring, Alleghany County, Virginia with his second wife, Naomi (aged 39) and children daughter Audra B Wright (daug. aged 18), Mary F Wright (daug. aged 5), Ella M Wright (daug. aged) 3 and Hellen G Wright (daug. aged infant).

By 1940 his family is living in Covington, Alleghany County, Virginia. Perry aged 60; his wife Naomi, aged 49; daughter Audrey Wright, aged 29; daughter Mary Frances Wright, sged 15; daughter Ella May Wright, aged 13 and daughter Helen Marie Wright, aged 10.

Perry passed away on August 19, 1950 at Covington, Alleghany County, Virginia.
