HAMPTON - Viola Rich, 71, died Wednesday, Aug. 18.

The native of Nash County, N.C., retired in 1979 as an assistant supervisor after 29 years at Maida Development.

Survived by her husband, Adron L. Rich Sr. of Hampton; four daughters, Doris Rich, Ida Mae Benthall, Lillie Shye and Judy Frye of Hampton; a son, Adron L. Rich Jr. of Hampton; three sisters, Elsie Parker of Hopewell, Thelma Manning of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Rachel Neely of Nashville, N.C.; four brothers, Major Moss of Nashville, N.C., and Thurman Moss, James Moss and Bob Moss of Rocky Mount, N.C.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. G. Thornton Hall.

Burial in Parklawn Memorial Park.

Visitation from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
