When the Boys Scouts of America allowed the Maui County Council to be formed "Pop" Hutton was the first Council executive, and filled that position from 1920 until 1934 (his position was funded the by Alexander House). Most people remember him because one of the camp sites at Maui County Council's Camp Maluhia (developed in 1937) is named in his honor.
Prior to his service with the Boy Scouts he had been a detective and in 1917 was promoted to Liquor Inspector. He also had "experience" as an athlete and an entertainer.
