Margaret Bentley, 89, of the Everton community, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Hickory Creek of Connersville where she had been a resident since January 11th.
She was a native of Knott County, Kentucky, born June 14, 1921 to Robert and Callie Adams Smith and graduated from Carr Creek High School there. On December 12, 1946, she was married to Clifford Bentley who died November 23, 1968. Margaret was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for over twenty years.
Margaret is survived by three children and their spouses: Danny Bentley and Dominga of Everton, Linda E. Crabtree and Bobby of Connersville, Eileen Beard and Jerry of Milton; two sisters: Edith Woods of Knott County, KY and Ruth Smith of Covington, KY; seven grandchildren and their spouses: Danny Ray Bentley of Mooresville, NC, Steve Bentley and Brianne, Rodney Bentley, Ben Bentley and Sunny, all of Indianapolis, Catrina Ward and Curtis of Brookville, Travis Sparks and Megan, Shana Sparks, all of Connersville; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Lynn Crabtree, five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor John Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Everton Cemetery.
