Kenneth A. Estes, 75, of Woodbury passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro.

Kenneth was born April 24, 1937 in Hill County to Ed and Viola (Hilton) Estes. In November 1964, he married Lucy F. Wood.

Before going to work for Certain Teed, until its closing, he worked at cotton gins all over the state of Texas, mostly in west Texas. He later went to work for the City of Hillsboro in the maintenance department, where he retired.

Kenneth loved the outdoors and gardening. He also enjoyed traveling and vacationing, especially to the coast. It was on those trips that he loved to take his grandkids and spend time with them there. He was a member of Woodbury Baptist Church in Woodbury.

Preceding him in death were his parents, four sisters, and one brother.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Lucy F. Estes of Woodbury; three children, Joe E. Rapp, Paula L. Vasser and Dean Rapp; seven grand children; twelve great-grand children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 23, at New Woodbury Cemetery in Woodbury.
