Our community was made sad on Wednesday afternoon when the report went out that little Glenn Russell Bowers, the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs, Charlie Bowers had passed away. He had been ill for several days with case of scarlet fever, and the gravest concern has been felt by those of the family and near friends for the last two days, and were not surprised when the announcement that the little fellow had succumbed to that dreaded disease.
Glenn was a very bright and attractive child and was a great favorite with all who knew him. He was three years, two months and nine days old, Mr. and Mrs. Bowers have been passing through the dark shadows for several months. Only a short time ago they had to give up their little babe, and have only one left to be with them and cheer them along the way. The remains were interred in the Texas Cemetery Thursday afternoon, with only a brief service at the Cemetery conducted by their pastor, Rev. Roger H. Fife, Perhaps a funeral service will be conducted at the church later. The family have the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
