Verna Jackson, 68, of Elwood, passed away on January 20, 2013 at Community Hospital in Anderson, IN following an extended illness.
Verna was born on July 25, 1944 to Vern Deep and Marybelle (Fish ) Huntzinger in Elwood. On April 20, 1963 she married Robert "Bud" Jackson and he survives.
She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church on 22nd street in Elwood. She was a volunteer at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital for 20 years, and was a member of the Women of the Moose. Verna was a down to earth lady that enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Verna is survived by her husband of 49 years Robert "Bud' Jackson, Son - Dan (Martha Faith) Jackson; 4 Daughters - Dian Jackson, Vicky Ziegler, Rachel (Dave) Hansen, Kaleena Jackson. Grandchildren Sally Jo O'Dell, Robert Daniel Jackson, Seth Jackson, Scott Jackson, Craig Jackson, Nicole Jackson, Kyle Stevens, Jonathan Michael Ziegler, Justinn Ziegler, Ashlynn Ziegler, Meaghan Ziegler, Morghan Ziegler, Josh Hansen, Eli Hansen, Abe Hansen, Noah Jackson, Iris Jackson. Great Grandchildren Ashlynn O'Dell, Tyler Stevens, Elle Stevens Sister Joyce (Larry) Chambers, Brother Ben (Maryanne) Stage, Brother Steve Stafford. Friends Janice Primavera and Betty Huff and Several Nieces & Nephews.
She was preceded in death by Father, Vern Deep, Mother, Marybelle (Vance) Huntzinger. sister Mary Frances Snyder, brother Don Stage, and brother Chet Stafford.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013, 1:00 pm at the Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana, with Rev. Joe Collier, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery.
