Charlie Byron Cunningham

Mr. Charlie B. Cunningham, age 82, of Pascagoula passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013. He was born on March 4, 1930 in Arena, MS to Carl & Mattie Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham served his country in the U.S. Air Force before beginning his career as an Electrical Engineer with Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #419, IBEW, and Faith United Methodist Church of Pascagoula. Mr. Cunningham enjoyed gardening and was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Alabama Crimson Tide. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Cunningham is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Calvin, Clarence, & Cecil Cunningham; and sisters, Ina Mae Brown and Juanita Miller.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Alberta Cunningham; son, Leon B. Cunningham of Pascagoula; daughter, Sharon (John) Bertsch of Carrollton, TX; and granddaughters, Nicole (Trevor) Baker of Tampa, FL and Alison Bertsch of Carrollton, TX; other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Mr. Cunningham will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home of Moss Point. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Edward "Doc" Tyndall officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chris Ladnier, Dalton Ladnier, Rodrick Ladnier, John Bertsch, and Trevor Baker. Honorary pallbearer will be Lonnie Ladnier.
Interment will be in Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa, MS
Holder-Wells Funeral Home of Moss Point is in charge of arrangements.
