Mrs. Sarah Margaret Hays, aged 64, passed away yesterday afternoon at St. Peter's hospital, following a brief illness. Sarah Boone Hays was born in Franklin county, Virginia, May 7, 1860 and was a direct descendant of the famous Daniel Boone, of Kentucky.
Mrs. Hays came with her husband, B. W. Hays, to this city in 1918 and has resided here since. Surviving besides the husband are three sons, Ray W., of Seattle, John J. and Peter D., of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Kreps and Mrs. Orpha Shumate, both of this city. Surviving also are two brothers and a sister in Los Angeles, and a sister in Oklahoma. The sons of Mrs. Hays all enlisted in the late world war and one, Elijah, lost his life with the American troops overseas.
The deceased was a member of the Church of the Bretheren, of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the W. C. T. U.
Funeral services will be held from the Mills funeral parlors Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Alfred Jacobson officiating. Interment in Masonic cemetery.
