She was born September 26, 1899, in Center Township, a daughter of James William and Iva Mae Clutter Webster. Her husband, whom she married August 15, 1929, died July 30, 1968.
She was a member of the Nineveh Methodist Church, a graduate of Center Township High School and attended Waynesburg College and was a retired teacher, having taught in Greene and Washington County schools.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Mae Black, Pittsburgh and Grace Louise Black, Washington and two sons, Samuel Harrison Black, Nineveh, PA and William Webster (Sheila )Black, Avella, PA; five grandchildren, Debora, Richard, James, Barbara, and Becky Black; and one sister, Grace (Lloyd) W. Scott, Waynesburg. Two brothers, Hal Irving Webster and Spencer Stewart Webster are deceased.
Services were conducted by Rev. Katheryn Lyford and burial followed at Greene County Memorial Park.--Observer-Reporter Nov. 1976
