Dr. Bloch was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and moved to Brighton, New York, where he attended Brighton High School. For the past seven years, Len volunteered on a daily basis at Dudley Elementary School, in Fairport, helping second-grade children, whom he adored. Len was named Volunteer of the Year twice for his dedication and commitment to Dudley and his students. He enjoyed a lifelong passion for tennis, and was a charter member of the Midtown Athletic Club, where he exercised daily; he was also a Lifetime Member of the Tennis Club of Rochester. Len had a deep appreciation of music, and was supportive of the Hochstein School, the Eastman School of Music, and the RPO. Donations in his memory will be gratefully accepted by the William Warfield Scholarship Fund, at Eastman, the Hochstein Scholarship Fund, and the Leonard Bloch Memorial Fund, (c/o Norman Beck, Dudley Elementary School, 211 Hamilton Road, Fairport.)

A celebration of Len's life is being planned. To share a memory of Len, or to send a condolence to the family visit www.anthonychapels.com.
